Jean and Carl grew up in Etobicoke, then moved to New Toronto in 1942. Jean was active in the community, worked for 25 years at the New Toronto Library and was a lifelong member of Century United Church. Jean was the loving mother of Lindy Kolodzie (Joe) of Oshawa, Denise Malcolmson (John) of Brockville, and Jim Carlson (Lynne) of Aurora. She was a devoted grandmother to 8 grandchildren, Eric Malcolmson (Nancy), Jackie Gardiner (Terry), Paula Moffat (Steve), Iain Malcolmson (Joy), Nick Kolodzie, Andrew, David and Rachel Carlson; a cherished great grandmother to Riley, Emma, Andrew, Elizabeth, Luke, Georgia and Rose.
